ICTEV 2006 Conference - ICT connecting learning
ICT in Education Victoria proudly announces its 27th annual state conference, ICT connecting learning, to be held at Melbourne Grammar School, South Yarra on Saturday 13th May 2006. This conference focuses on weaving ICT into every facet of education, connecting students and teachers in their learning through a broad range of resources and skills. The conference theme ICT connecting learning describes the range of approaches that connects and engages learners in significant and purposeful ways, seeing information communication technology as supportive of their knowledge needs, providing them with the means to be energetic and collaborative in their learning journey.
The renowned challenging and inspirational international speaker Jamie McKenzie will address this conference. Jamie encourages increased commitment to professional development along with networks to support exploration and reasoning. That means investing in staff development so that the computers don't go to waste.
I think the main thing is that they need to keep remembering that this is about children and it's about learning and questions ... The reason we invest in a network is to bring rich information into the classroom, but it only makes sense to have rich information in the classroom if you're going to let kids ask questions and explore questions. If that isn't part of your classroom you could save a whole lot of money. Jamie McKenzie
This conference promises to deliver school principals, ICT leaders, primary, secondary, and tertiary educators, technicians and specialists with a range of hands-on sessions that will allow them to explore and examine best practice examples across the entire curriculum. See first hand what is topical and exiciting in the areas of ICT in education and new approaches to technology that can enhance learning. 'Master Classes' with Jamie McKenzie will be offered for the first time at an annual state conference of the ICTEV.
