Did you know that the Australian Antarctic web site has live webcam from each of the bases? These video uploads are live and refreshed regularly during the day. Except in whiteout [blizzard] conditions or the occasional technical hitch, students are able to view live video footage from each of the bases at Davis, Casey, Macquarie Island and Mawson as well as weather updates, graphs and statistics. There are also 5 different VR Panoramas from Antarctica which need Apple Quicktime installed to run.As well as the video images, this website is a vast resource of information with everything you every wanted to know about Antarctica and our bases - the scientists, animals, weather, geography and territories. There are excellent educational resources, maps, International Treaty information and scientific projects. We especially like the 10 Facts about

This site has some really excellent mathematics resources. They are well designed and challenging interactives which are especially suitable for more capable upper primary school students . You will need to have Shockwave installed to utilize these interactives. Click on Hypatia or Pythagoras to spin the wheel. The activity on probability is great !

There is a large range of mathematics activities here for primary school students many of them are interactive. There are also pages to guide parents who want to use these resources in a purposeful way with their children.www.illuminations.nctm.org The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics maintains this site. The Interactive Mathlets are outstanding and are especially useful for upper primary school students and middle school students. The activities cover all areas of the mathematics curriculum. The i-maths investigations are excellent resources for longer-term explorations in mathematics.

Hot Potatoes is a free program for school users provided that teachers register themselves with the company. Visit this site and you can also obtain a copy of Quandary. Quandary is a program that allows the user to generate interactive tutorials or online adventure games. Both programs work on the Mac or PC.
